Welcome to Seymour Pop Warner!!

Welcome to the Seymour Pop Warner Football & Cheerleading website. Our program is designed to help your children to understand the game of football & cheerleading, interact with other children, promote scholastics, create friendships, learn discipline and most of all, have fun!!

The Seymour Warner Football & Cheerleading Program was established in 1965 and continues to inspire young athletes today.  The mission of Seymour Pop Warner is to enable children to benefit from participation in team sports, in a safe and structured environment, while maintaining a balance of education, athletics and team work. Through this active participation, the Seymour Pop Warner programs teach fundamental values, skills and knowledge that children will use throughout their lives.

Seymour Pop Warner requires all participants to maintain academic standard and is committed to instilling life long standards of teamwork, dedication and a superior work ethic.

Seymour Pop Warner has six teams of tackle football ages 7-14 & cheerleaders ages 5-15 and flag football ages 5,6 & 7.  Many former Pop Warner participants return each year to our Program and help our younger children strive for success.

Play Pop Warner!!

Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. (PWLS) is a non-profit organization that provides youth football and cheer & dance programs for participants in 42 states and several countries around the world.

Consisting of approximately 425,000 young people ranging from ages 5 to 16 years old, Pop Warner is the largest youth football, cheer and dance program in the world.

Pop Warner was founded in 1929, continues to grow and serves as the only youth football, cheerleading & dance organization that requires its participants to maintain academic standards in order to participate. Pop Warner’s commitment to academics is what separates the program from other youth sports around the world.

As the only national youth sports organization that requires scholastic aptitude to participate, Pop Warner is committed to developing America’s young people on the field and off. Each year Pop Warner continues to expand its efforts in team and activity participation, as well as visibility and outreach in the community.

Since 1929, the Pop Warner Programs Philosophy has been that athletics and scholastics go hand in hand. At every level, Pop Warner programs seek to develop well-rounded young men and women who learn not only the fundamentals of football, cheerleading, and dance but also the importance of education in an atmosphere conducive to developing sound character while having a good time.

2012 Connecticut Winter Indoor Football League

Seymour players: Interested in the 2012 Connecticut Winter Indoor Football League?

The Connecticut Winter Indoor Football League is a unique opportunity for our young football players to work on developing important fundamentals, both individually and collectively as a team. The format of the game is full contact, six (6) players versus six (6) players.

The Winter Football Season will consist of seven (7) weeks of development including:

- 1-week of jamboree-style preseason scrimmages

 - 5-weeks of regular season games

 - 1-week of “round-robin” playoffs (every team participates)

All scrimmages and games will be played on Sundays (except the last week due to Easter which will be played on Saturday April 7th), February 26th – April 7th at The Sports Zone in Trumbull, CT. The cost of the Winter Football League is $200 per player.

Teams must consist of a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 12 players and Divisions based on the players’ current school grade, not weight.

Team registration is already open and practices will start in January, practice pads and equipment should be kept when turning in game uniforms at the end of the Pop Warner season.  In order to secure a practice space, (which will most likely incur some cost above the league fee) interested players/parents should contact the following as soon as possible:
